A well-established meat retail store is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee daily operations, including receiving, production, and staff management within a busy butchery environment. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient operations, high-quality product standards, and strong team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Production Management
Oversee daily store operations, including meat production and processing.
Manage receiving of stock, ensuring quality, quantity, and compliance with standards.
Monitor production output to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.
Ensure proper stock rotation, storage, and handling of meat products.
Staff Management
Lead and manage a team of 20+ employees across production and retail functions.
Allocate duties, manage schedules, and ensure optimal staff productivity.
Provide training, guidance, and performance management to staff.
Foster a positive, disciplined, and high-performance work environment.
Stock & Inventory Control
Monitor stock levels and place orders as required.
Conduct regular stock counts and manage variances.
Ensure accurate record-keeping and stock control processes.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards within the butchery.
Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
Ensure high standards of product quality and presentation.
Customer Service
Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained.
Address customer queries and resolve complaints efficiently.
Financial & Administrative Duties
Manage daily cash-ups and basic financial controls.
Monitor store performance and assist in achieving sales and profitability targets.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Store Manager or Supervisor in a butchery or meat retail
Strong knowledge of meat production, cuts, and handling processes.
Experience managing large teams (20+ staff).
Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
